My name is Dave Dunkin. I live in
Lynden, Washington with my wife
Tamara. I currently work at
DIS as the lead software engineer in the research group. I am also a member in a
web design and hosting company,
Gottathink. I am a graduate of
LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
Email me at
me@davedunkin.com.
Tamara makes great scrapbooks. See them at
TamsTreasureBox.com.
I finally started
a blog. Keeping in the tradition of personal blogs, it has a pretty random name. Posting will be very sporadic, depending on how much time I have.
Photography
Recently I've been getting into photography. I got a Canon Digital Rebel to take pictures in Hawai'i in early 2004 and have been growing my collection of accessories since then. Check out
my photo gallery. You can also see a few
pictures and movies of ours on my wife's page. I also take
photos for our church,
Grace Baptist Fellowship. I've shot one wedding for a friend and would like to start doing more portrait photography, so if you're in Whatcom County and want a cheap photographer for onsite family photos or senior pictures, please contact me at
me@davedunkin.com.
Tam and I went to Kenya on a safari. See our
Safari Photos.
Software
Here are two
Eclipse plugins that contains
JBoss 4 server definitions for the
Eclipse Webtools project.
WTP 0.7M5 to 0.7.1:
org.jboss.ide.eclipse.serverdefinitions_0.7.0.jar WTP 1.0M8 to 1.0:
org.eclipse.jst.server.jboss_1.0.0.jar (thanks to Wolfgang Knauf
wknauf_NO_@_INSIDE_hg-online.de)
Old Software
I've also worked on a few software projects, all GPL'd:
MSNj - an MSN Messenger library in Java
HTTPMail - a free implemntation of an HTTPMail (Hotmail) client in several languages
Free Library System - a Java based library circulation system
Gimec - an instant messaging and e-mail client for the GNOME environment
Gnutmeg - a Java peer-to-peer file sharing system
Unfortunately, all of these projects are now unmaintained and obsolete. MSN keeps changing their protocol version. Hotmail disabled HTTPMail access except for paying customers.
Hair-brained Scheme
I just found my new best friend. And it only cost me a dollar! Meet Irv at
Friend for a Dollar.
Misc
In the summer of 1999 I was in
Puerto Ayacucho, Venezuela on a missions trip with
Mission Aviation Fellowship.
